At Honey Bee Books we are committed to providing high-quality products to you and this guide outlines how we describe the condition our preloved books.
Condition categories
The following terms are used to describe the condition of our pre-loved books:As New: The book is in immaculate condition and no visible signs of wear. Very Good: The book has some small signs of wear but not tears or significant damage. All defects will be listed and photographed as part of the listed item for sale Good: This is a book with an average condition that visible signs of wear but still has all pages intact. All defects will be listed and photographed as part of the listed item for sale Fair: A significantly worn book that includes all pages but has significant signs of wear. The copy is fine to read. All defects will be listed and photographed as part of the listed item for sale.
Terms used for describing defects
When describing defects for our preloved books the following terms will be used:
Edgewear: wear along the edges of a hardcover book usually due to being placed and removed from a shelf.
Loose Binding: As a book is used and opened regularly, the binding may become loose. Although all pages will be intact.
Marks: where there are marks or stains either the cover or pages of the book
Inscribed: when there is a written inscription on the inside of the book
Yellowing: When there has been sun damage to the pages and they appear yellow in colour
We will always endeavour to include images of the defects so that you can see exactly what you are puchasing.
